Hi, my name is Samantha, I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator, and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Over the past few years, I have gained a lot of experience in various childcare settings. I continue to learn new things in the field of education and I love exploring various philosophies.
Growing up I knew I wanted to work with children in some aspect. I’ve enjoyed bringing my love of art and books into the classroom. I also have a love for nature and science-based explorations, and being able to combine them. I love that children push me to explore new things and that I am always learning from them. We will continue to explore and learn new things together.

I’ve been in the early childhood education field since 2019; starting as a Float staff to an Early Childhood Assistant to a Registered Early Childhood Educator. When I started school I liked learning about the foundations of child development and how children develop/learn in different/creative ways. I’ve always had a spark of interest in working with children when growing up especially when I was in high school. When I was younger I always enjoyed taking care of my younger siblings when my parents were at work. Not only did I enjoy spending time with them, but I enjoyed seeing them grow into the person they are today. I love interacting with the children and getting to know each one of their personalities. My previous jobs always involved working with families and children.
This made me want to pursue my career in Early Childhood; I wanted to learn more and I love learning. I also enjoy learning from others.
I just started working at St. Michael and All Angels Day Care Centre in June of 2023 as a full-time staff. I’m extremely grateful for working with the children and learning from other senior staff in the centre. The staff at this centre have shown me how hardworking and positive they are in helping the needs of the children first. Not only that, but even the families have shown me how kind and welcoming they are. I’m extremely excited that I have started my journey at St. Michael and All Angels Daycare Centre. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here

I have been volunteering in the educational system and have had many opportunities to learn and work with children in different settings for the last 8 years on a part-time basis. I have been working in the early childhood sector since 2022. My experience as a volunteer in the educational system, and becoming a mother, are just a few things that have fueled my interest in early childhood education. I am a Registered ECE, currently working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University. I am fluent in Italian and enjoy learning together with children in all areas. I worked in the toddler room for over a year and I am presently working in the junior preschool room.

I’ve discovered throughout my time working with children that I worked well with a range of children and I was able to exhibit patience and support for diverse learners. I have a passion for working with children and observing their daily development and growth is incredibly satisfying. Knowing that you may have a positive influence on a child’s life makes it one of the most rewarding professions.
Children should be encouraged to express themselves verbally, visually, playfully, and artistically. I enjoy interacting with children and learning from them. They are all different and special in their ways. My goal is to establish a welcoming environment where children feel loved, cared for, respected, heard, and feel like they belong. A child’s early growth depends on their learning to value diversity and uniqueness. Children should know that each person is distinct and unique in their way, with their own culture, beliefs, and heritage.
